The Pigeon Post

The Coronavirus is pretty much eating up the news cycle and destroying social media feeds around the world. And for good reason too. The more informed people are, the better.

It’s interesting to observe the interaction of communication technologies and public health during an outbreak like this, especially when the outbreak reaches beyond just a few countries. I think social media is a great way to get real-time information and understand what’s really going on with public health (i.e., dispel myths and fact check half-baked statements). Of course you have to know who is a vetted expert or honest reporter.

In the end, I’m glad we’ve moved on from Pigeon Post!
