I spent about ten minutes playing a “game of patterns” with my child this evening. Initially this game was just a ploy to distract my child from the TV blaring in the background because pretty much every child in America is getting too much screen time right now, but then my child correctly copied the pattern I laid down. Here’s where it gets interesting. I expected the pattern to be mirrored, which it was for a brief moment, but then my child adjusted the orientation of the bears so that it was correct from my perspective. Suddenly I had so many questions about life!
